When I began thinking about what one word I wanted to define the coming year, I initially thought I would choose Hospitality. But then I realized I really wanted to be intentional about making holistic healthy choices for our family. There were several ideas that we discussed as possible areas of focus. One thing we kept coming back to was this: We already know what we need to do, we just need to do it.
It is my hope that we will be able to focus on one area each month and report back here with what we have taken action on! I am excited about the variety that this gives to writing, hopefully gaining some momentum as we go. The initial categories where we will be taking action that come to mind are some that we started working on last year as we pursued peace.
We have spent a lot of time talking about what we would like to see happen but this year, our goal is to hear a lot less talk and see more action. In a nutshell, here are our action points, which may still need some refining:
- We want to actually practice hospitality, not just talk about being hospitable.
- We want to pursue natural, holistic health for the family.
- We want to continue our process of de-cluttering.
- I want to be intentional about building community?

If you don’t choose a word for the year, what is one goal you have for 2014? Leave me a comment.
