A few weeks ago, a fellow writer compiled a list of some encouraging quotes and invited others to join in with their favorites as well. I am bit slow in getting mine posted but here are three of my favorite quotes.
The first one says quite simply, we need reminders.
This quote hangs on the wall of my husband’s office. I am often reminded that we each have a story to tell. The purpose of our story is to point others to God so we can each find our place in His story. I am a recipient of that uncommon grace of God. Story has the power to grip and convict without condemning. I love to be moved through story. I love to be the storyteller.
We are a forgetful people. We need storytellers. We need someone to lay the drama of God’s love before us. We need to be reminded of the uncommon grace of God.
- William R. White
My husband and I talk a lot about leading people and how to do it. It is a hard job. Leading people means casting vision – giving direction. This direction is not only necessary corporately, but also individually. You need a personal mission and vision. You need a direction in which to move so that you can live your story.
Where there is no vision, the people perish.
Proverbs 29:18
Finally, we are each called to be something different. My dad always said to me, “It takes all kinds to make the world go ’round.” We each have a role to play as mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, pastors, teachers, friends, writers, and every variety of worker. You are important! So here is the final quote:
Whatever you are, be a good one.
-Abraham Lincoln
I hope you have enjoyed these three little quotes! I have many more favorites. Do you have a favorite quote? Share it in the comments!
